The Ideal Location

With the enormous privilege of the sea as a backdrop, in the city of Porto, Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is located in one of the most beautiful and prestigious avenues in Foz, on the first line of the sea, overlooking the infinite blue of the Atlantic Ocean.

A few minutes from the city center, Foz is a historic neighborhood in Porto full of charm and authenticity, with small restaurants, local shops, and residential areas where you can breathe tradition and modernity. Here, we find tranquility and well-being that comes from the sea. Away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city, it’s the ideal retreat for the perfect rest after long, busy days.

At the end of the Douro River, where the river and the sea meet, we benefit from an excellent location for those who want to visit the city, but not only. We are next to interesting neighboring cities like Matosinhos, we have easy access to the entire North region and the magnificent coast that extends to Spain. From here we depart to visits the Douro Valley or we can simply enjoy the beaches, do nautical activities, or take bike rides along the coastline. And of course, enjoy the Hotel itself, benefit from the sea's regenerating energy and relax in our magnificent Spa.

For those who enjoy the excellent seafood and fresh fish from the Portuguese coast, Matosinhos is a must. With an important fishing port, there are entire streets of seafood and fish restaurants, with guaranteed quality and freshness. From the sea to the table! With long and white sandy beaches, terraces by the sea, and pleasant promenades, it’s just nearby. We suggest that you pick one of our bikes and get to know it!

On the other side of the Douro River, Afurada is a charming fishing village that keeps flavors and traditions from ancient times. In Afurada, there are tiny streets filled with old and colorful houses, hanging clothes at the doors, and smiley people with working lives linked to the sea. All around, we can smell the roasted fresh fish served in the picturesque local restaurants. Our suggestion to get there is by boat, in a small vessel leaving from the Arrábida Bridge area, close to where we are. It’s a short and pleasant crossing that takes you directly to the very heart of the village.
